DESCRIPTION:In any given year\, nearly 1 in 4 adults in the US experience a mental illness or an addiction. Lifetime prevalence is 1 out of 2. This training teaches strategies for family members\, friends and peers to recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health or substance use challenges and offer support which helps to reduce stigma and discrimination and increase help-seeking. \n  \nMental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a skills-based IN-PERSON training that teaches participants how to identify\, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders.
