Skills For Managing Stress Workshop And Groups
Increase your awareness! Save a life!
About These Groups & Workshops
The Shasta Resilience Project was born in 2018 following the devastating Carr Fire. Working with the evidence-based model developed by the Center for Mind Body Medicine, we offer small groups and workshops designed to heal trauma, manage stress and build resilience.

Benefits of the program

2-Hour Workshops
These are designed to empower you in learning and using tools to manage stress and move through trauma.
This is a great way to quickly learn a few stress-management skills, and explore the science of mind/body medicine. You will learn about and practice skills that focus on the interactions between the mind and body and the powerful ways in which you can participate in your own healing and health. These include various forms of meditation, guided imagery, writing, drawing and movement.
4, 6 Or 8-Week Small Groups
These provide a safe, confidential space to learn tangible skills to calm the physiological responses to stress. Participants learn a new skill each week (meditation, movement, drawing, writing, guided imagery, biofeedback, etc.) and have the opportunity to share their personal experiences, to whatever level is comfortable. Most participants find that by devoting time to self care and reflection, they are better able to manage their challenges.

"Thank you, Marcia! I appreciate you for the work you do and for taking the time to be with us. I feel that I was able to walk away with tangible items to manage my own stress that I can share with others. I may have also learned some new dance moves in the process!"
Catherine

"The workshop exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed learning about the techniques and being able to do them with the instructor. The environment felt very safe. While we did the exercise that required movement, Marcia made it so everyone felt comfortable. She was organized and very knowledgeable about the content."
Jess
Clinical Psychologist
"I really enjoyed practicing mindfulness skills, and learning both the background and implementation of the skills taught. Marcia was very effective, knowledgeable, and respectful, and I plan on adding in at least 15 minutes of meditation, yoga, and/or relaxation techniques each evening."
