Faqs And Funding Qualification Info

What is CYBHI?

The California Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) is a statewide effort to expand access to behavioral health services for children and youth, with a focus on prevention, early intervention, and school-based supports.

Who qualifies for CYBHI-funded youth services?
Youth aged 0–25 in California, especially those in rural, tribal, and underserved communities, are eligible. Services can be offered outside of school settings, including at youth programs, clinics, or online.
Is this only for Medi-Cal recipients?
No. While CYBHI supports Medi-Cal access, many services are funded regardless of insurance status, especially when delivered through qualified partners like Lotus.
Who is eligible to receive services through Lotus and CYBHI?

Small and rural schools in Northern California may qualify, especially those experiencing limited access to behavioral health providers or higher rates of student mental health challenges.

Can our community program apply for funding directly?
Community programs can partner with CYBHI-affiliated providers like Lotus to access services without managing state contracts or administrative requirements.
How do we get started?

Reach out to Lotus Educational Services to schedule a discovery conversation. They’ll assess your needs, confirm eligibility, and guide your school through the onboarding and service planning process.
